Since now all of you are familiar with web analytics, let us take a look at the various benefits of this wonderful tool. There are a number of benefits of employing web analytics:

1. Lets you know the effectiveness of a web page:

Web analytics helps you know about the effectiveness of a web page by providing you the visitors’ count. Visitors show the traffic that a website is getting. Web analytics also determines how many times a visitor returned to a website, how long they remained on a web page and which pages were given preference by visitors. Apart from imparting visitors’ location and language based information, it also indicates high engagement time and clicks. Moreover, it helps identify the product or service visitor might be interested in.

2. Tracks exit and bounce rate:

Bounce rate refers to an internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave rather than continuing on to view other pages within the same site. It is a measure of the effectiveness of a website in encouraging visitors to continue with their visit. On the other hand, exit rate as a term used in website traffic analysis is the percentage of visitors to a site who actively click away to a different site from a specific page, after possibly having visited any other pages on the site. With the help of web analytics, you can keep a track of both bounce rate as well as exit rate.

3. Helps identify exit pages:

Pages like the thank you page on an e-commerce site have a high exit rate. In this case, it is quite acceptable as it appears only after the purchasing process is over. But if other pages have high exit rate, then it indicates that those pages have some problem and need to be looked into immediately. Web analytics can be used for the analysis of those pages in order to understand if visitors are not getting the desired information
