What exactly does automation mean?

Automation is a way of catalyzing the necessary processes. Though it reduces the human efforts required to accomplish a task, it doesn’t completely eliminate them. Be it whatever form of automation, there’s a list of myths clinging to each one of it.

Myth #1: Automation replaces content creators 

This is amongst the most common social media automation myths. Though automation requires less efforts from a content creator in scheduling and publishing content, it doesn’t imply that the content creators are totally free. In fact, it helps in boosting their creativity by giving them enough free time to conduct thorough researches put in more efforts to enhance the content quality and eventually analyze all their efforts.

Myth #2: Social media automation eradicates engagement:

Suppose you are the content creator for your company. Let’s have a look at two different scenarios:

i) Without automation tools: You create the desired content and then post it on the intended platforms one by one as per the schedule. You wasted a considerable amount of time doing a monotonous task a number of times.

ii) With automation tools: You create the content that’s required and schedule the posts to be posted on different social platforms. You than sit back and relax, having a lot of time to engage with all your readers.

Myth #3: Automation causes you to lose control over your content:

Automation tools actually hasten up the processes involved in content marketing, right from publishing to monitoring activity. In fact, you have more control over your content when you employ these tools as you are notified about the occurrence of an event that wasn’t a part of your content marketing strategy.

Myth #4: Social media automation is costly:

This is yet another useless social media automation myths. There are a lot of free automation tools that can be leveraged for social media marketing. However, if you want a specific feature that is lacking in a free automation tool, you can opt for a paid tool. All the automation tools are decently priced and it’s a one time investment if you really want your marketing efforts to be fruitful.

Following the myths prevailing in a niche can often be harmful. So, it’s advisable to be aware of what’s a myth and what’s a fact!
