1. Optimize the images:

Visualization can help differentiate your blog from that of competitors’. Images and videos together account for a blog’s visualization and are considered as crucial elements for on-page SEO. Thus, adding images, screenshots, videos to your blog posts can help you make your blog enticing and increase user interaction. In addition to this, images can drive huge traffic from Google image search. Images actually explain the key ideas of your page, convey a tone or message and act as a visual break in content. Further, optimizing images using the alt image tag can benefit you even more. The alt image tag provides a text description of your image to help search engines determine what they are or how they relate to your content. You can consider changing the name of the image file with relevant keywords, adding alternate tags to images and using caption if needed.

2. Put up longer, relevant posts:

As a matter of fact, longer posts rank high in Google. These posts are also listed in on-page SEO checklist and help you to rank for competitive keywords. But don’t just focus on writing long posts just for the sake of writing it. Make sure that the post is informative, persuasive and appealing. Also, make it scannable as people don’t read word by word. In order to make your posts scannable:

i) keep your paragraphs short

ii) use subheadings.

iii) use lists

iv) use bullet points

v) keep space.

3. Use internal and external links:

Using internal and external links is also a part of on-page SEO checklist. Internal links are the ones that send traffic to other pages on your site. Internal linking is an important on-page SEO element as it decreases bounce rate and increases user engagement. For adding internal links to your post, add some relevant links to your old posts. On the other hand, external links are the ones that send traffic to other sites. Providing external links to authority sites can boost your page’s rank in Google. So, consider adding 2-3 relevant external links on your blog posts.
