With Google having made it crystal clear that how important mobile optimization is, almost all the businesses have turned to mobile-friendly websites. No matter big or small, every business wishes to be ranked higher in SERPs. And today, one of the many conditions to be eligible for that is the mobile-friendliness of a business website!

As a result, even the industries normally slow to adopt the advancements in the technology have joined in. Moving towards mobile-friendly strategies is a good decision but not that easy. There’s a lot that needs to be taken care of while creating mobile content alone!

The reason?

Working with mobile content is not about what (or how much) you write. What’s more important is how you write. Here are the most effective tips to create content that’s mobile in a true sense.

Use attention-grabbing headlines:

No matter whatever the website visitors are searching for, there’s an abundance of information on the internet.

Also, as mentioned above, mobile content creation involves working with smaller screens and shorter attention spans. Now, the very first thing that can help your business and website amidst such an abundance of information, smaller screens, and shrunken attention spans are amazing headlines.

Headlines that are short, descriptive, captivating and work well with little above-the-fold real estate provided by the mobile devices should be used. Make sure that the headlines are tempting enough as they play an important role in a visitor’s decision to either read on or leave.

Optimize your mobile content for local SEO:

By now, it’s a known fact that Google places a high value on mobile searches. That’s the reason why most marketers port their message to mobile even if they had initially constructed their messages with a ‘desktop first’ approach.

Also, there’s a probability that most of the users who search via a smartphone are looking for something locally. So, it’s imperative that you optimize your content for your geographic location so as to improve your ranking for local mobile searches.

Keep your message short and concise:

When you create content with a desktop-first approach, even a huge chunk of paragraph takes up mere 3-4 lines of the screen. However, that’s not the case with a mobile device. There, even a single long line forms a paragraph for the much smaller screen. So, it’s advisable to make the first few lines of text concise and attention-grabbing.

Additionally, images play an essential role as mobile users read the content differently. So, consider using an image-first approach. Leverage the power of graphics and use colorful, engaging, and relevant images that effectively complement the rest of the article.

Avoid using infographics:

It’s a no-brainer that the mobile screens do not offer the same resolution as desktop devices. Since these devices have a limited bandwidth so they tend to resize the large sized images to fit their small screen size.

As a matter of fact, infographics, images, graphs, etc. are extremely large files that take a long time to load on mobile devices as these devices have limited bandwidths. Also, large images mean that the person viewing your website has to scroll a lot to view the images properly. A website with many large images is hard to view and navigate via small mobile devices and can simply frustrate mobile users.

Say no to flash animation:

Flash is great when it comes to creating rich media content. However, it only works well on the desktop devices. When it comes to the mobile devices, flash animation, video, and navigation content are absolutely incompatible.

This incompatibility further leads to an unpleasant user experience. So, it’s advisable that you avoid the use of flash animation when working on mobile content.

One can create great mobile content if all these tips are followed like rules!
